Here are the week zero games of the week.
METRO REGION – ORANGE, OSCEOLA, AND SEMINOLE COUNTY
IMG NATIONAL @ THE FIRST ACADEMY
The national team from IMG Academy will travel to Orlando to take on The First Academy. IMG finished 7-2 in 2024. The First Academy finished 9-1 on the field in 2024, but had to forfeit all wins and ended up finishing 0-10. The will be the first time that the Royals will play a national schedule in hopes of competing for a national championship.
COASTAL REGION – BREVARD, FLAGLER, ST. JOHNS, AND VOLUSIA COUNTY
BRADFORD @ COCOA
Bradford finished 10-2 last season and open their 2025 season with a trip to Brevard County to take on Cocoa, the defending Class 2A State Champions. These programs are very familiar with each other. Cocoa defeated Bradford 20-6 in the 2023 Class 2S state championship game and also notched a 31-21 win over the Tornadoes in the 2022 Class 2S state semifinals.
URBAN REGION – ALACHUA, BRADFORD, CLAY, LAKE, MARION, AND PUTNAM COUNTY
MIAMI CENTRAL @ VANGUARD
Vanguard finished their 2024 season 11-2 and will begin 2025 with a visit from Miami Central. The Rockets were 8-1 in the field last season, but had to forfeit all wins, and finished 0-9. These two programs are not strangers, this is the third consecutive year that they have met in week zero.
SSAA 11-MAN NORTH REGION
LIGHTHOUSE PCA @ ROCKY BAYOU CHRISTIAN
Lighthouse PCA finished 8-5 last season and won the SSAA Class 4A championship. They open the season on the road at Rocky Bayou Christian, the 2024 SSAA Class 3A champions. Lighthouse PCA defeated the Knights 28-0 at home in their 2024 season opener.
SSAA 11-MAN SOUTH REGION
JUPITER CHRITIAN @ NSU UNIVERSITY
Jupiter Christian finished 2024 with a 10-3 record and won the SSAA 5A championship. They will open the 2025 season on the road at NSU University, which finished 9-3 last season and were the 2024 SSAA 11-Man state runner-up.
SSAA ATLANTIC LEAGUE
PAXON @ WEST NASSAU
Paxon finished 2024 with a 7-2 record including a loss in the opening round of the SSAA Atlantic League state championship playoffs. The playoff loss was due to double forfeit by Paxon and Lake Weir after a scuffle broke out during the playoff game. West Nassau finished last season 9-2 including an opening round loss in the SSAA Atlantic League state championship playoffs.
SSAA 8-MAN
GENEVA CLASSICAL @ FOUNDATION CHRISTIAN
Geneva Classical finished last season 7-4 including a first round loss in the SSAA 8-Man 3A playoffs. They will open 2025 at Foundation Christian, which finished 2024 with a 9-3 record and the SSAA 8-Man 2A championship. Geneva Classical defeated Foundation Christian 24-20 at home last season.
OUT OF AREA – GAMES WHEN A TEAM IN OUR COVERAGE AREA PLAYS AN OUT OF AREA TEAM ON THE ROAD
OAKLEAF @ COLUMBIA
Oakleaf advanced to the Class 6A Region 1 championship game before losing to Buchholz. The Knights ended the season with a 9-4 record. They will open their 2025 season on the road at Columbia. The Tigers finished 2024 with a 5-6 record including a first round loss in the Class 4A playoffs to district foe St. Augustine.
SPOTLIGHT GAME – GAMES THAT WE WILL COVER LIVE
KISSIMMEE OSCEOLA @ MAINLAND
Kissimmee Osceola finished 2024 with a 12-3 record that included a state runner-up finish in Class 6A. They begin the 2025 season on the road at Mainland. The Bucs finished last season with a 5-6 record including a loss in the opening round of the Class 5A playoffs.
